Life Advice From Warren Miller

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

“If you don’t do it this year, you will be one year older when you do.”

This timeless wisdom from legendary filmmaker Warren Miller was always given during his ski movies in reference to some epic ski trip that, for most viewers, would remain a dream unfulfilled. I’d like to broaden the scope of this idea to include the realms of self-improvement, creative projects, and entrepreneurship.

What’s the big thing you’ve been putting off? What project, what goal, what dream have you been letting simmer on the back-burner for years? What is the critical step that you know, deep down, needs to be taken? Is now the time to do it?

I can’t answer those questions for you, but I can guarantee this:

If you decide that 2019 is the year to take the leap, put in the work, and make it happen, you won’t regret it. And if you don’t, well … you’ll be at least one year older when you finally do – that is, if you ever do it at all.

P.S. The big project I’ve been putting off for too long is creating a website devoted to all the different ways you can construct Jenga® towers, and I’m proud to say that I finally did it! There’s still more work ahead, but it’s ready for the public. If you’re curious, head over to www.ngaej.com to check it out! Ngaej (pronounced “engage”) is Jenga, rearranged and reimagined.

®Jenga is a registered trademark owned by Pokonobe Associates. As of this publishing, we are unaffiliated.
